What we collect
- For the person creating a card: their name, their email address, and the name of the person being celebrated. The email is used only to send them the card's management link, a payment confirmation if applicable, and a notice on the share date if they set one.
- For the people who sign: the name they choose to display, their message, and, if they add one, their photo or GIF.
- For people invited by email: if the organizer chooses to send invitations, we store the email addresses they provide in order to send the invitation, automatically remind latecomers before the deadline, and track who has signed. These addresses are used only for that card, and anyone can opt out of reminders using the link in the email.
- For payments: payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don't send newsletters or advertising.
- We don't use advertising tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is used to recognize the person who created a card, on their own device.
Traffic measurement
We measure site traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless tool: no consent banner, no advertising profile, only aggregate statistics (page views, referrers, device type). Before anything is sent, the secret part of each address is masked: your secret links are never transmitted to this tool.
Who can see a card
Cards are not public and are not indexed by search engines. Anyone who has a card's link can view it and add a message, so choose carefully who you send it to.
Deleting your data
The person who created a card can delete any message using their management link. To have an entire card or any of your data deleted, write to us at bonjour@bonsmots.ca and we'll take care of it promptly.
